Looking ahead to 2016…
Thanks to all of our dear friends who have been supporting our mission and following our progress as we moved from town-to-town this past fall (and all our past tours, too)! After some consideration, Kevin and I have decided to stay close to Texas this year, and start booking our 2017 tour dates now.
2016 is going to be a year of change for us, as we look to moving from our beloved casita in Hondo, to the growing community of Fredericksburg, which is smack-dab in the middle of the Hill Country music scene! Of course, with a move of this kind, there is the dreaded “sorting though the household” tasks, packing-up and unpacking stuff, and getting situated in a new nest. But, that’s OK. Hopefully, our next place will be bigger than our current one-bedroom tiny house. Kevin really needs some space to write and record without me having to tiptoe around…
Kevin has been working on sorting and organizing a staggering amount of breathtaking photos and videos he has accumulated from our tours, with a goal of finally completing a book of photos, lyrics and musings that has been well-overdue. In the music department, Kevin has a boatload of new songs and song ideas that have been tugging on his shirtsleeves, keeping him awake and begging for his attention. So, it appears that there will be some new songs to preview for y’all in the near future, too!
I have a couple of online music marketing courses that I look forward to finishing, as we are faced with a new and evolving music industry model. If we want to keep up with the business of music and not get left behind, I had better start mapping out our course.
Kevin and I are sad that we are not going to be able to see all our friends up North this year, but we’ll hit the road again in 2017. In the meantime, we look forward to sharing our music at house concerts across Texas. For the sixth year in a row, Kevin is excited about hosting a stellar lineup of guests for his Songwriter’s Showcase at Hondo’s on select Wednesdays.
The future looks bright. And, the Present is just fine!
