We are proud to announce that Kevin has been chosen as one of ten finalists to compete for the title of 2014 Telluride Troubadour, scheduled to be held at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, June 19-22, in Telluride, Colorado! The festival will be celebrating its 41st year, attracting songwriters from around the world during the Summer Solstice weekend.

Of the ten finalists selected to compete for this coveted title, Higgins is the only Texan in the group. “A couple of weeks ago, Barbara and I were on the road, touring the West coast. Out of the blue, I started getting congratulatory texts from my friends, Matt Harlan and Drew Kennedy, referring to ‘Telluride’“, Kevin laughs. “When I asked Barbara if she knew what they were talking about, she started jumping up and down. Evidently, she had entered my song, ‘Bittersweet’ without telling me!”

Finalists for the Telluride Troubadour competition were chosen for originality, craftsmanship and creativity. They will be performing throughout the festival for “in-the-round” sets; during the festival broadcast and short “tweener” sets on the Main stage. The winning Troubadour will perform a set on the festival’s Main stage on Saturday night in front of 10,000 festival attendees from all over the world.

So, keep your fingers crossed for Kevin! We’re all rooting for him!!
